You read page one of the percussion primer:
With Percy Pennyweather's Percussion Primer you'll soon be beating the bongos and other drums like a native of Howondaland.
Percussion instruments are all those which are struck or beaten, either with the hand or a stick. Most are made from animal skins being stretched tautly over hollow rounds of wood or metal.
Since many percussion instruments have no definite pitch, it is important to master keeping in time and learning the different rhythmic notes.
These first lessons should help you on your way to becoming a percussion profesional.
